BSU Does Broadway: An Unforgettable Experience!
Our first Signature Event, BSU Does Broadway was a hit!
In partnership with Bowie State University, Prince George’s Arts & Humanities Council brought attendees, including 45 Bowie State students, to New York City on March 27th for an immersive theater experience to see MJ: The Musical, starring current BSU student Myles Frost as Michael Jackson himself.
Frost's stellar performance as Jackson captivated the audience for the entire 2.5 hour show, earning him a standing ovation (or three!), and a rousing Bowie State University cheer from our entourage of BSU students, alumni, and Prince George's County residents #GiveMylestheTony!
At the exclusive talkback after the show, our CEO Rhonda Dallas presented Myles with a Proclamation from County Executive Angela D. Alsobrooks, dedicating March 27th as 'Myles Frost Day' in Prince George's County.
Our guests, along with BSU's Performing and Fine Arts students, then transitioned to Victor's Cafe, for heavy hors d'oeuvres and conversation. Myles took photos with our honored guests, and, in a touching moment, even engaged in conversation with George Faison, Tony Award winning choreographer for The Wiz. Truly an experience we will talk about all year long!
We are grateful to our sponsors Insurance Solutions Associates, Willow Oaks (MD) The Links Inc., and Brenda Mackle for their support of this wonderful opportunity to bring the arts to a wider audience.
