Prince George’s County Arts and Humanities Council Brings Public Art to the New Hyattsville Branch Library
The County's Art In Public Places program, managed by Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council, debuted two commissioned public artworks at the new Hyattsville Branch Library on March 30, 2022. These artworks, created by Prince George’s County artists Valerie Theberge (Mount Rainier) and Curtis Woody (Upper Marlboro), will enhance the identity of the new library and celebrate the rich history of the Hyattsville community.
This highly anticipated new library continues PGCMLS’ track record of building award-winning sustainable, modern, and welcoming branches that serve as hubs for the community. PGAHC’s commissioned public art advances this track record by placing intentional use of art to shape the physical, social and economic future of the Hyattsville Library Branch.
