Prince George’s Film Festival Announces 2024 Dates and Call for Films 

The 3rd Edition, Presented by Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council and Prince George’s Film Office, Takes Place September 26–29 

 

Largo, MD, March 15, 2024 – The Prince George’s Film Festival, presented by the Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council and the Prince George’s Film Office, announced that the third edition of the festival, PGFF – Take 3, will take place from September 26–29, 2024, in the heart of the vibrant Mid-Atlantic region, Prince George's County, Maryland. With its rich cultural tapestry, diverse communities, and picturesque landscapes, this dynamic location sets the stage for unparalleled cinematic magic.  

“Now in its third year, the Prince George’s Film Festival has become a highlight of our cultural calendar, attracting filmmakers and movie lovers from across the region and beyond,” said Rhonda Dallas, CEO and Chief Curator of Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council. "We believe that film has the power to inspire, educate, and spark critical conversations. One of the goals of the Prince George’s Film Festival is to create a space where diverse voices and perspectives can be heard, and where filmmakers can connect with audiences on a deeper level.”  

Submissions for PGFF – Take Three are now open through May 15, 2024 (early), July 16, 2024 (regular), and August 17, 2024 (last minute). The festival welcomes submissions in various categories including, narrative features, documentaries, short films, animation, and international and student films.. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their work through Film Freeway, where they can find more information about submission guidelines and eligibility criteria.

"This festival is a celebration of the incredible talent and creativity within our community, and we can't wait to see the stories filmmakers will bring to the festival screen." 

PGFF – Take Three aims to highlight the best in independent cinema, providing a platform for emerging filmmakers to share their stories with a broader audience. Selected films will have the opportunity to be screened virtually and onsite at the festival, which will take place at various venues across Prince George’s County on September 26-29, 2024. In addition to film screenings, PGFF – Take Three will feature community screenings, workshops, panel discussions with filmmakers, high-impact networking receptions, dedicated events, and award ceremonies.
