Four Prince George’s County Students Were Honored at the State House in Annapolis

Four Prince George's County Students were presented with commendations for receiving awards or honors at the 2022 National History Day competition.

Lillian Merrill, Saniya Pearson, and Aliyah Smith represented Accokeek Academy and won First Place in their Category for their Group Performance. Stephen Albert represented Kenmoor Middle School and received the Prize for Irish or Irish-American History.

To even attend National History Day, students must place first or second in the Maryland History Day, a statewide competition, coordinated by Maryland Humanities.

PGAHC is #PGPROUD to congratulate these students on their outstanding achievement in winning the National History Day competition. This is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to your hard work, dedication, and passion for history.

Their success in this competition is not only a reflection of your knowledge and skills but also your ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and collaborate with others. Their achievement is a source of pride not only for themselves but also for their school, and the Prince George's County community.

Once again, we congratulate Lillian, Saniya, Aliyah and Stephen on this well-deserved honor, and PGAHC wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
